CHAOS AND CARNAGE TOUR AT STARLAND BALLROOM IN SAYREVILLE, NJ

The Chaos and Carnage Tour kicked off at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ on April 18th, and gave metal fans a chance to really let loose and mosh one out. Co-headlining the tour were Whitechapel and Dying Fetus with support from Revocation, Fallujah, Spite, Uncured, and Buried Above Ground. The show was a bit behind schedule, causing it to go past midnight, but that didn’t stop fans from rocking out late into the night for Whitechapel.

The bands opening the show all provided the audience with a lot of energy. I am honestly shocked that fans went that hard for that long! The only breaks this tour gave patrons were the changeovers in between bands, which actually felt like they were quite quick and seamless. Major props to Revocation, Fallujah, Spite, Uncured, and Buried Above Ground for their great performances, and ramping up the audience. Taking the stage before Whitechapel were Dying Fetus, who put on a performance that left the audience pumped up and ready to push their energy to its limits.

When it was time for Whitechapel to hit the stage, the audience was supercharged and ready to go. Whitechapel recently released their new album, “The Valley”, and the band premiered tracks off the album such as “When a Demon Defiles a Witch”, “Forgiveness is Weakness”, and “Blackbear”. In addition to a good number of newer tracks, the band also played tracks off of previous albums such as “Make It Bleed” and “Our Endless War”. Fans of the band immediately started head banging and moshing from the minute the band took the stage. Whitechapel played an incredibly tight set and have a beautiful on-stage chemistry musically. It was my first time getting to see the band live and Phil Bozeman absolutely blew me away with his monstrous vocals. He is easily one of the best vocalists I’ve seen live. Their use of strobes and lighting made the band seem otherworldly. Overall it was visually and musically a fantastic set. There is still time to get out there and catch the tour for the rest of the available dates.
