ROCK EN SEINE: HOW TO ENJOY THE LAST DAYS OF SUMMER IN PARIS

It’s hard to not be happy with this 2019 version of “Rock en Seine” line-up. The famous, not-to-be-missed, Parisian festival is making a strong comeback after mixed success last year. With big names from the rock scene (The Cure, Foals, Royal Blood) and electro scene (Aphex Twins, Major Lazer), the event is already looking promising. They recently added some acts that you definitely need to check out!

Friday 23rd

Celebrating their 40th anniversary in France with a more than 2 hour show, The Cure are on the top of the bill for the opening day. Living up to the expectations coming with the name of the festival, several other big acts for the rock lovers will join them. Firstly, Johnny Marr, the legend from The Smiths, will also be up on stage the same day, with the Belgian musicians from Batlhazar as well as the young singer Alice Merton. If you lean more on the electro side, you should definitely come early to check on Kompromat, the new project of French DJ Vitalic. Jeanne Added will also join the party, with a special creation. She’s working with the choir Accentus to revisit songs from her second album, “Radiate”.

Saturday 24th

This second day is electro/pop focused. Without any kind of doubt, the American band of DJ’s Major Lazer will transform Saint-Cloud Park into a giant dance floor at the end of the night. They are the headliners for Saturday. Earlier in the day, you could have the chance to witness the performance of the rising English pop star Jorja Smith, as well as the young singer Mahalia. The English band Jungle will be up this day, too. We still have vibrant memories from their show last year at Le Trianon in Paris and with their brilliant new album “For Ever”, this show will surely be a must-see of the weekend.

Sunday 25th

This day will certainly be one of the best days for rock fans in summer festivals in France. In the same day, you’ll be able to sing along with the BRIT Award winner Sam Fender, the crazy but so endearing lads from Two Door Cinema Club, the revelation The Murder Capital, Bring me The Horizon’s coming back from a successful tour, the duo Royal Blood, and finally, one of the best live band around, Foals. What a day! We have not even mentioned the French electro band Agar Agar, the rock band from Lyon Decibelles, or the American band Mini Mansions. If you have any bits of energy left, you will surely find a set that suits you! Closing the festival will be Aphex Twins. The English DJ is making a comeback at the best of times in France this year. I must confess that I’m not really sure of how I will survive such an intense day, but I surely can’t wait for such a great line-up.

Rock en Seine will certainly be a highlight of the summer in the French capital. See you there?
