CHVRCHES AT WHITE OAK MUSIC HALL IN HOUSTON, TX

Scottish Trio CHVRCHES graced the humid Houston lawn of the White Oak Music Hall this weekend in support of their most recent album - Love is Dead.

All I can say is, if you were in Houston Friday night and you weren't spending it with them I honestly feel sorry for you. Because the constant Chris Brown/Marshmello shade throughout the show from front-woman Lauren Mayberry was enough to make my entire life, honestly. (Cause f**k abusers. Am I right?)

The setlist was comprised of hits from all three of their albums including tunes like "Recover," "Leave A Trace," "Never Say Die," and my personal favorite off of their sophomore record, Every Open Eye, "Clearest Blue."

Mayberry's incredibly sweet sound has a way of piercing through the backing synth rock instrumentals, making all of their tunes feel like anthems.

I've been lucky to have gotten to see CHVRCHES live many times - starting at the beginning and seeing how far both their musical as well as stage production has elevated is quite exciting. They seem to always be topping their previous materials and live shows.

This stop in Houston was no exception. I found myself a hell of lot sweatier on the car walk home than normal because of the massive dance party that erupted during “Clearest Blue” and then “The Mother We Share”.

CHVRCHES is one of those bands that I will never grow tired of listening to, nor seeing live.
