ISSUES AT THEATRE OF LIVING ARTS IN PHILADELPHIA

Issues brought their “Beautiful Oblivion Tour” to Philadelphia with support from Lil Aaron and Polyphia. The band recently release their album Beautiful Oblivion back in October, so throughout the set they played through each song on the album, while also playing some older tracks in between.

When the band hit the stage, their drummer, Josh Manuel, was up on a high platform and his bass drum head was illuminated. The venue went into a frenzy, and you could see how devoted of a fan base the band truly hasOpening with their track “Here’s to You”, attendees were yelling, jumping, dancing, and throwing themselves up to crowd surf. Their vocalist, Tyler Carter, bounced around the stage, and bassist, Skyler Acord, was captivating to watched as he spun and jumped through the air. During the set they performed older tracks such as “Stingray Affliction”, and “Never Lose Your Flames”.

A real highlight of the set for me was definitely when the band threw it way back to the Black Diamonds EP era, and performed “King of Amarillo”. Without vocalist Michael Bohn, I was curious to see who would be filling in. Screams were split between Tyler, Skyler, and guitarist AJ Rebollo, which was great to see. They also featured musician Saxl Rose on saxophone during several tracks, which really added a new layer of depth to their live show. All in all, the “Beautiful Oblivion Tour” was a really fantastic show. I’d highly recommend you get there early enough to check out the talented acts that are opening.
