Yesterday Diplo, an American DJ and producer, debuted a short documentary Florida to California – directed by Kyle DePinna. The documentary chronicles Diplo’s career to date, from his beginnings in South Florida to his rise to stardom in Philadelphia to his latest EP California – released earlier this year and named for the state where it was made and where Diplo now works.

The mini-documentary includes footage of friends and collaborators including Justin Bieber, Madonna, Snoop Dogg, Post Malone, M.I.A, French Montana, Steve Aoki, Skrillex, A-Trak, DRAM, MØ, Dillon Francis, DJA, Switch, Ariel Rechtshaid, Dre Skull, Lee Scratch Perry,Tyler, The Creator, Jasper Dolphin, his Major Lazer bandmates Jillionaire and Walshy Fire, and many more.

California was released earlier this year on Diplo’s own Mad Decent and is his first solo body of work in five years. The EP’s six tracks find Diplo collaborating with old friends and new discoveries alike, with features from Lil Xan, Trippie Redd, MØ, DRAM, Lil Yachty, Desiigner, Santigold and GoldLink. A new collection of remixes of the EP debuted this week, with new versions of the tracks from Keys N Krates, UNKWN, QUIX, Jarreau Vandal, TWERL & Max Styler, and Tony Romera.

Silk City—the new collaborative project from Diplo and Mark Ronson—unveiled the video for their first single “Only Can Get Better” featuring Daniel Merriweather last week. Watch the video, directed by Dan Streit and Lindsey Nico Mann.

The duo made their first official appearance at this year’s Governors Ball in New York and will headline the U.K.’s Bestival in August. The project is the first official collaboration from the longtime friends and is named for the Philly institution where the now Grammy-winning, multi-platinum producers first met. Further music from Silk City is imminent.
